The fog on the Tyne

Posted by Curly (South Shields, United Kingdom) on 2 November 2009 in Transportation and Portfolio.

This is the cross Tyne ferry which carries passengers from South Shields to North Shields cutting her way through the fog. "The Pride of the Tyne" is the latest addition to the small fleet of Nexus passenger ferries for a service which sails every 30 minutes.

At the rear is one of the DFDS ferries which regularly sail from the Tyne to Amsterdam in the Netherlands, and an oil rig support vessel.
