Last rose of the yearPosted by Curly (South Shields, United Kingdom) on 6 November 2009 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio. A single white rose found in the South Marine Park, South Shields. Don't quite know why it has survived so long. Even though I may not be able to post daily, I always welcome your comments or critiques. Read my views in Curly's Corner Shop, or find out a little more about my home town South Shields. and see a few more pictures of the place at Creative Commons some rights reserved. I am trying to work out how you have got the colours so good and the petals so soft but yet sharp at the same time. Is the Pentax lens that good? I have not used Pentax since the days of the ME Super!!! 6 Nov 2009 3:46pm @Philip: I love my Pentax, it is simple, basic, limited and bottom of the range but colour rendition is very good I think. The 18 - 55mm lens is pretty sharp too, although the auto focus is not the fastest. I see that some other AM3 users have the Pentax K10 and I'm impressed with their colours too. I always shoot RAW and rarely, if ever, find that I need to adjust the colour temperature and white balance away from "as shot". About thirty years ago I owned a second hand Asahi Pentax K100 35mm SLR which I also loved at the time. Pavan Kaul from Mumbai, IndiaDelicious as ice-cream...wonderful soft light and color in this superb picture of a pretty flower!! 6 Nov 2009 4:03pm `Paul from Minneapolis, United States.. beautifully delicate.. superbly executed.. a strong strong image here, Curly. 6 Nov 2009 7:17pm Joe Jubinville from Florida, United StatesTender, ethereal and subtly sexy. I like how the gold seems to radiate out in glowing waves from what one senses is a deliciously fragrant core. You've done the lady justice... framing, focus, saturation, all handled with great taste and nowhere overbearing or hyped. Nice. 6 Nov 2009 8:26pm Christel from Köln, GermanyGood evening, Curly, 6 Nov 2009 8:47pm Marie-Jezaria from Paris, FranceLike a wedding tones... 6 Nov 2009 8:59pm Evelyne Dubos from Le Mans, FranceLot of softness and a beautiful rendering of white tons. 6 Nov 2009 9:08pm maia_t from Cluj Napoca, RomaniaBeautiful, so delicate with the soft yellow petals. 6 Nov 2009 9:10pm Jen from Bartlett, United StatesIt survived so you could show us all.
