Floating in the fogPosted by Curly (South Shields, United Kingdom) on 3 December 2009 in Architecture and Portfolio. The ferry landing in South Shields floats on anchored pillars sunk into the River Tyne. The ferry service between South and North Shields operates every half hour, even on foggy days! As a shelter for travellers I think this is an interesting place to sit and watch the river traffic go by, and a nice piece of post industrial architecture. Even though I may not be able to visit or respond daily, I always welcome your comments or critiques. Read my views in Curly's Corner Shop, to find out a little more about my home town South Shields.
