Floating in the fog
The ferry landing in South Shields floats on anchored pillars sunk into the River Tyne. The ferry service between South and North Shields operates every half hour, even on foggy days! As a shelter for travellers I think this is an interesting place to sit and watch the river traffic go by, and a nice piece of post industrial architecture.
