Rainbow over the light.

Posted by Curly (South Shields, United Kingdom) on 26 October 2010 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

One of the quickest rainbow disappearing acts I'd ever seen. Souter lighthouse in Marsden South Shields looked resplendent in the fading light, a couple of fast grab shots out of the car window - then it was gone!

Wow - great capture! I love the glint of light on the top of the lighthouse. Yes, you have to be quick to get that type of shot. The person walking away to the left of the frame and with their back to the rainbow looks like missing it entirely!

26 Oct 2010 7:00am

@daniela scharnowski: Don't know if it is unusual or not, although I have seen it before. The photo is virtually untouched, just edited in Camera RAW and resized for web.

@k@: No, I disagree, I've just had a closer look and the horizon is not as straight as I would wish, it tilts about 0.5 of a degree to the right.

k@ from Paris, France

Sorry but that's not what i see first and when i spoke of each element, i meant the character, the lighthouse, and all - but you're the chief here ! ;)
