Winter "Wherry"

Another location along the Marsden coastline in South Shields, popularly known as "The Wherry". It is a small dislocated rocky outcrop left as a result of sea erosion just a few hundred yards from Souter Lighthouse and is extremely popular with sea anglers.

Three hand held shots (on auto-bracketing) were taken to make this HDR in Photomatix Pro 4.

Use control and your mouse scroll wheel to zoom the picture/page, then control and 0 to reset to normal size.

I love the sky. So cute with the snow by the sea. I didn't crop my today's picture and even though we normally have snow from November till April there is still caos here and there in Sweden too, but of course we have to keep going out anyway... yesterday morning it was -22 and kids were playing outdoors and old couples were taking their walks... quite amazing somehow.

Good evening Curly,
The perspective is interesting and I like it very much. The white crests of the waves, including color and detail of the general view, are excellent for expression. The dark sky supports the general view positively. It is a very nice winter atmospheric image. I think a walk by the sea, this time of year is very uncomfortable.

nice work on this HDR - the colours and scenery still looks very natural and it allowed to balance the light very well and to brings out fine detail!

A great composition with interesting elements of color, texture and depth that you've captured in this HDR. I love that small patch of blue sky and white clouds; quite a contrast to the rest of the sky.
