The climb

Posted by Curly (South Shields, United Kingdom) on 10 December 2010 in Lifestyle & Culture and Portfolio.

Looks like hard work for these youngsters as they climb back up the hill at Gypsies Green, South Shields.

The cold didn't seem to bother them in the least (my fingers were ready to drop off.)

All the fun of the snow !! Us older gents do tend to feel the cold a lot more than the young nippers !! :-)

Love the icy scene, and the joy of the young girl with the sled. Makes me yearn for a cold hill and a toboggan.

What fun they are having! On the frozen fingers front the best investment I've made is a pair of fingerless gloves with a kind of flap over mitten. That way, warm hands when needed, but shutter finger available when needed. Won't get you any admiring glances from that lovely blonde babe, but at least your fingers don't drop off!

Oh wow! Your processing, along with all of the footprints, really gives a lot of texture to the snow. The reds really "pop" here as well.

A good lesson for them to learn...the hardest part of sleding is the climb back to the top of the hill! Well seen and captured Curly! ;-)
