Snowfall at The WherryPosted by Curly (South Shields, United Kingdom) on 22 December 2010 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. Early morning picture taken at "The Wherry", Marsden, South Shields. Very low light, very low temperatures and three hand held auto-bracketed shots to make this HDR in Photomatix Pro 4. If you look close enough you will think this is quite noisy, but look again and you will catch the falling snow. Makes the Big Sur look tame eh? Use control and your mouse scroll wheel to zoom the picture/page, then control and 0 to reset to normal size. @J.R.: I have tried that in the past but didn't find that I was able to extend the dynamic range sufficiently. I have found my best HDRs come from five to seven bracketed exposures working exclusively with the RAW files in Photomatix. |
