Boats at Whitburn

This small yard is located at Whitburn just to the south of South Shields, it is used as a storage place for the local sea angling club. Right next door to it is Latimer's fishmongery and restaurant where local catches of crab, lobster, langoustines, and North Sea fish are in great demand.

Shot this one fairly early in the day as the sun rises over Seaburn.

Five exposure were used to make this outrageous HDR in Photomatix Pro 4, which then had a little extra help from Topaz Adjust. I just wanted to boost that sky up, but may have gone over the top a bit.

Use control and your mouse scroll wheel to zoom the picture/page, then control and 0 to reset to normal size.

The nature of HDR seems to be unifying the light. Thus also here, where the boats are probably in a rather dark area. The overdone sky is actually the clue. From that point the picture might work very well for me, if the boats were done in the same color tone.
