George Washington's family birthplace #7Posted by Curly (South Shields, United Kingdom) on 12 March 2011 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio. I have been promising to run this little series for a while now, for the benefit of our American friends in AM3. This is Washington Old Hall, the family home of George Washington's ancestors, the first President of the USA. It is just a few short miles outside of South Shields. Washington's great grandfather John Washington emigrated to Virginia from here in 1657. This is part of the formal garden, and is not an HDR. Well this brings this series to an end, so I hope you all enjoyed it, we are back to more pictures from South Shields tomorrow. Use control and your mouse scroll wheel to zoom the picture/page, then control and 0 to reset to normal size. Even though I may not be able to visit or respond daily, I always welcome your comments or critiques. Read my views in Curly's Corner Shop, to find out a little more about my home town South Shields. @Florence: No, but even he would use electric hedge clippers on these ha ha. @J.R.: No, he definitely was referring to Topiary, the art of bush clipping. @Thea: These are bushes, hedges, Thea. @Marilla: No post processing at all after the RAW conversion, this is virtually straight out of the box. |
