UK Snooker Champion

Posted by Curly (South Shields, United Kingdom) on 16 April 2012 in People & Portrait and Portfolio.

Just another little known South Shields secret - John Maughan was the UK Under 16 Snooker Champion in 1965 and the Under 19 Champion in 1968. He is the manager of my local club where I go for my regular medicine!

I did him the favour of immortalising his achievements on the internet after finding no references to his trophy wins at all, the full story is now online here.
Just look at the names on those honour rolls!
