Luscious!

"Delicious strawbs, two punnets for a pound!"

That was the cry of the fruiterer that I found operating under the Metro station bridge in King Street, South Shields. It was getting near the end of the afternoon so stock had to go to make room for new produce the next day.

I've always enjoyed a red and green combination.

Beautiful berries ... and I guess a "punnet" is a small plastic 'box' and a "pound" is the old-fashioned British currency. <grin>
Advertised in the newspaper at a local grocer, 2, 16-oz packages for $5.00. Not sure how to convert. ;D

@Jules: I love strawberries, but they don't love me! So unfortunately I didn't buy any, I eat them just once a year in the summer, around about the time that Wimbledon has its tennis finals.
