Sandra MariePosted by Curly (South Shields, United Kingdom) on 11 June 2012 in Transportation and Portfolio. There is an interesting little quay on the River Tyne just off Wapping Street in South Shields, it is lined with small boat building yards, a heritage centre which restores old wooden boats and ships, and other workshops. This is where I found the Sandra Marie laid up waiting for work. This was a three shot HDR worked in Nik HDR Efex followed by a little bleach bypass treatment in Nik Color Efex. I'm pretty pleased with the end result which came close to replicating some of the paintings that I'd seen by local riverside artists. Here's a much larger version for you to enjoy. @Julie L. Brown: I still very much prefer Photomatix and make lots of use of it; Nik HDR Efex, I find, is very CPU intensive and a little harder to control. The tendency is to go for the pre-set options, and there are some nice ones which would be harder to replicate in Photomatix. I guess if you have an idea of what your outcomes should be, it's good to have the options of two tools at your disposal. |
