Busman's holidayPosted by Curly (South Shields, United Kingdom) on 29 July 2012 in Transportation and Portfolio. Took this at the beginning of June in the Bents Park, South Shields where the annual Tyne Tees Run for historic commercial vehicles had gathered. This is one of the original double decker buses of the old South Shields Corporation lovingly restored to full working order. Use control and your mouse scroll wheel to zoom the picture/page, then control and 0 to reset to normal size. Even though I may not be able to visit or respond daily, I always welcome your comments or critiques. Read my views in Curly's Corner Shop, to find out a little more about my home town South Shields. @Ronnie 2¢: Yeah the dark blue, light blue, and yellow were the corporate colours of South Shields back in the day. They were also the colours used in my Grammar School tie, and in the school rugby jersey, and in the colours of the South Shields and Westoe Rugby and Cricket Club. @Richard: Oh yes, the number of times that I hopped on and off the platform on the street corner (never waiting to reach the official bus stop) on the 2d ride from school. @Othersideblue: Thank you for choosing this for your Remix :-) @Florence: Are you still away Florence? Which exotic resorts have you visited? @João Mourão: No HDR here, just a touch of the Lucis Arts plug in. @grouser: I know, I was backed up against another bus. @Florence: Many years ago I had a two week visit to our twin town "Epinay sur Seine", one day I'll find a scanner that does good works with slides and try and show some of the shots I took in Paris on my old Ricoh XR2S. @Rick: Well here are links to a couple of other pictures of the old Economic for you. |
