Spirit of South Shields.

Posted by
Curly (South Shields, United Kingdom) on 28 January 2010 in Art & Design and Portfolio.

I was on my way home after a long walk along the beaches in South Shields, I took the lower route along the River Tyne (Wapping Street and Market Dock) plodding carefully along the snow covered boardwalk as the sun gently settled in the west below the places where they used to build ships.

It is on this boardwalk that we find a few pieces of public art, here is Irene Brown's 1988 sculpture "Spirit of South Shields"
