The Pilot Jetty

Posted by
Curly (South Shields, United Kingdom) on 14 May 2010 in Cityscape & Urban and Portfolio.

The Pilot Jetty is a familiar mark on the banks of the River Tyne in South Shields. Now disused but still owned and controlled by the Port of Tyne Authority it was the place where the Tyne Pilots would tie up their boats, it is now a favoured "mark" for anglers.
