Lime kilns at Marsden, South Shields erected behind the also disused Marsden Rattler railway line, locally quarried limestone was deposited and fired here to produce lime.

@Sri Harsha: The five RAWS give you a much greater gamut of light levels and tones to work with in Photomatix and I kept the smoothing levels pretty high in this one, which helps with sharpness and reduces any effects of light fringing.

@Eric Cousineau: The sunlight is behind these lime kilns most of the day Eric, so mornings are the best time to catch a little light on them.
