British beachlife?

Posted by
Curly (South Shields, United Kingdom) on 26 July 2010 in Documentary & Street and Portfolio.

Seaburn beach, Sunderland, is just outside of the southern boundary of South Shields, and this picture was taken on Saturday 24th July 2010. I have to say that it was the traditional flat caps which caught my eye, perhaps fashions are changing again.

So why were so many people on the beach?

Find out tomorrow.

27 Jul 2010 3:31am

Steven from Chicagoland, United States

Quite a large amount of people you've captured here, and I love the detail of the front row of people and how the rows seem to be going on continuously in the background. Another thing that I noticed is that everyone seems to have the same type of lounge chair. Here in the States, it's quite varied as to the types of lounge chairs people own. The type shown here seem to have been popular in the 1970's here and were probably the most comfortable.
