Arbeia Roman Fort

Posted by
Curly (South Shields, United Kingdom) on 28 August 2010 in Architecture and Portfolio.

This is the reconstructed West Gate of the Arbeia Roman Fort in South Shields (yes, we had settled here long before the Romans arrived). The fort was a supply base for Hadrian's Wall and is one of the largest and best preserved remains of a Roman Fort in the north of England.

Three shots to make the HDR in Photomatix then converted to black and white with Nik Silver Efex.
