The Whitby series #14

Posted by
Curly (South Shields, United Kingdom) on 24 September 2010 in Food & Cuisine and Portfolio.

aka - The fruit and veg van

Yep, 1940s fresh supplies at 1940s prices!

I liked the way that first the van was the genuine 1940s vintage, and secondly the baskets and containers were authentic, I loved the attention to detail.

This has been tone mapped in Photomatix to make a single image pseudo HDR.

The shot really reminds me of our old currency £ S D. Somehow it seemed natural and easy to count in base 12 and base 20. I wonder how kids from the calculator generation would get on with it today? Lovely shot and processing!

@CElliottUK: They find it difficult to count in tens don't they?
