The Whitby series #15

Posted by
Curly (South Shields, United Kingdom) on 25 September 2010 in Lifestyle & Culture and Portfolio.

aka - Walking the plank

I find that the wooden boarding on the piers at Whitby is pretty quaint and compelling, I'm not really sure how many of these wooden piers are left in the UK, but there cannot be many.

My favourite type of British pier (the one with a theatre at the end) is also disappearing pretty fast too.

That's great. I love the extreme perspective here. Makes the path of the walkers very significant thematically, walking the plank, heading to an unknown destination, a long road implied.
