Great place to be pictured with friends, down at "the lights" in South Shields.
I thought the treatment brought out the best of The Criterion in the background.

You can see that our friend from "Silly Tuesday" has forced his way into the picture ha ha!

Alun from cheshire, United Kingdom

looks a great gathering place, right in for a nice pint now

4 Mar 2011 6:24am

@Alun: Yeah "the Cri" has always been a favourite watering hole and meeting place, it must be at least 110 years old.

4 Mar 2011 7:12am

Christine from Duns, United Kingdom

Love the colours and the processing. I notice the cobbled street, some of the cobbles have disappeared in Edinburgh, replaced with tarmac, very sad

4 Mar 2011 7:18am

@Christine: They might look like cobble Christine, but these are actually a modern flat faced paving block, you know what the health and safety police would think of cobbles these days!

Monterey John from Hollister, CA, United States

Cool processing. This would make a great illustration.

Ted from South Wales, United Kingdom

I'm not sure about the PP, but this has so much detail, it's so busy, you just want to pour over every detail and each time you see something new and different. Good capture Curly.

I'd really like to know how you do this. Nice work.

4 Mar 2011 9:00am

@Kenny: You need the Lucis Art plug-in for Photoshop Kenny.

Stephen from Canberra, Australia

Wonderful range of textures - highlighted very well by your processing.

CElliottUK from Reading, United Kingdom

Yep, interesting what Ted said. There's so much going on that , I at least, just had to keep looking to pick up yet another detail. Normally I don't like busy shots(Short attention span!), but the busyness works here, particularly as there are groups of interest, rather than everything just being splattered everywhere

Great composition & texture in the processing. It reminds me of the wonderful paintings of Reginald Marsh who painted the New York City scene in the 1930s.

Love the fact that the guy was late to the line-up, two pictures two different view points.

5 Mar 2011 8:43pm

Jessica from Maehongson, Thailand

I feel that this image has been over-treated... perhaps because I am an avid photoshop user myself and I see what you did.... though a great image your treatment distracts for me. I still adhere to the "image" as being strong not the treatment. You image here is strong enough, do not try to overimpress with the abilities of editing...;) I say this all tongue and cheek for I too appreciate immensely, the art of play and creativity. Experiment, find how you want to communicate!
