A little knowledge brings power

"An intellectual is someone whose mind watches itself. " - Albert Camus.

I've been trying for a long time to produce a low key portrait without a lot of success. So I set the metering to "spot metering" and under exposed a further stop for this little South Shields girl reading at a PC screen, finished it off in Nik Silver Efex.

Hope it looks OK.

I'd like to introduce you to another AM3 newcomer today, his name is Daniel Ramos from Spain and he has some very accomplished images uploaded so far. It looks like he has spent a bit of time up here in the north of England.

29 Mar 2011 3:38pm

@Pascale.: It is just some stray light glinting from loose hairs.

Poetic portrait....looks very much OK:-)
(on my screen there some strange grey-ish/black-ish parts on her cheek and hair, but perhaps this is intended?)
Now I'll surf to Daniel;-)

29 Mar 2011 7:14pm

@Marleen: Perhaps your screen is a lot brighter than mine, or perhaps mine is not as bright as it should be. I'll have to look into that.

@M@ndy: One of its best features is the ability to play around with the sliders and set your own style or styles, you can then save these as presets, in addition to the ones already included with the software.
