Silly Tuesday sausages

Posted by
Curly (South Shields, United Kingdom) on 19 July 2011 in Miscellaneous and Portfolio.

Found these for sale in Durham's Market Place, looks like they were expecting huge crowds of frankfurter lovers to turn up at any moment. That's the trouble with some of these continental markets they haven't done enough research, silly people. They should know that we prefer Dickson's saveloys with pease pudding!

Super point of view and image quality - so much so that those sausages actually feel like they are here infront of me behind a show window :) I love the geometry of lines that are perpendicular to the sausages and the contrast in color. All in all, delightful picture! :)

Saveloys with peas pudding?! Now it's clear as daylight - wild boar in mint sauce: poor sod

Judy aka L@dybug from Brooksville, FL, United States

Okay, now you'll have to show us what "Dickson's saveloys and pease pudding" looks like. ;D
Actually, google did a pretty good job ... does the pease pudding taste like pea soup?

19 Jul 2011 12:49pm

@Judy aka L@dybug: Look here

Its a wholesome beech smoked sausage served in a good consistency bread roll, generally offered with pease pudding, sage and onion stuffing, mustard, and the choice of having the top part of the bread "dipped" in gravy. Absolutely delicious.
Pease pudding is unique in its look, consistency, and taste, I honestly cannot think of anything else that it resembles. It is a very thick and smooth paste made from yellow split peas with a slightly sweet but essentially mild taste, not like pea soup at all.

Tomek from PoznaƄ, Poland

Good appetite and happy ST.
