Acts of Remembrance #4

Posted by
Curly (South Shields, United Kingdom) on 17 November 2011 in People & Portrait and Portfolio.

A short series of pictures recording and documenting a few events in South Shields during the period of remembrance surrounding Armistice Day 2011. All with a common theme showing mainly mono with some hand picked detail in colour, this will likely be red to signify the spilling of blood and selfless sacrifice as represented by the Flanders poppy.
More detail and slide show of some of the original pictures - here

I believe this is the tunic of the Grenadier Guards, although the "hackle" appears to be from the Northumberland Fusiliers reservists.

Event: Remembrance Sunday
Where: Westoe Cenotaph, South Shields
When: Sunday 13th. November 2011

PENTAX K100D 1/750 second F/5.6 ISO 1600 450 mm (35mm equiv.)
