A short series of pictures recording and documenting a few events in South Shields during the period of remembrance surrounding Armistice Day 2011. All with a common theme showing mainly mono with some hand picked detail in colour, this will likely be red to signify the spilling of blood and selfless sacrifice as represented by the Flanders poppy.
Event: Unveiling of Brunswick War Memorial
Where: South Shields Town Hall
When: Wednesday 9th. November 2011

I finish this series with what I consider to be my personal favourite. Hope you all enjoyed the series.
Coming up, the remaining two HDRs made on a pre-dawn shoot down at the beach, followed by some reflective glass inspired by Eric Cousineau.

@Gemma Wiseman: This is an indoor shot Gemma, the textures that you see are on the surface of a recovered brass plaque which is almost one hundred years old.
@Judy aka L@dybug: Yes there was a significance in a way Judy, I was looking for names connected to my mother's side of the family who mostly originated in that part of the town. Unfortunately (or luckily) I didn't find any.
@franz: That was my intention when I took the shot John, shoot at a pretty open aperture to thrown the faces out of focus and present the names pretty sharply, I was wishing to show the faces in a way that would make the viewer think about them without any definite recognition.
@janina: See my reply to Judy above Janina, I was looking for particular names but they weren't there. You have to follow the link to the original post in my other blog too, to find the personal significance.
@Eric Cousineau: The event had a special significance for me Eric, the plaque came from a community that I grew up in many years later, and many of the families who raised the cash would have been connected to me in one way or another.
@Don Levesque: Yes, I really liked the out of focus "suggestion" of thoughtfulness in the faces reflected beyond the inscriptions.
