I'm back, as quick as a flash, hard disk error found and repaired, boot sector fixed, Windows repair re-installation, all done without any outside assistance. Thanks for your patience, good will messages, comments, and support whilst I was away.
Christmas time and hanging on to money feels as simple as grabbing handfuls of water, it just drains through your fingers!
Just playing around here with an old Takumar Pentax 50mm f1.4 prime lens, hitched to the end of three extension tubes to see how it goes for macro work. The diaphragm can be stopped down and the K100D works just fine in aperture priority, although composition and focus needs to be done with the lens wide open, once you start closing the aperture down it gets pretty dim inside of the viewfinder!
Makes a great 75mm equivalent portrait lens when mounted direct to the body, but you lose aperture ring functionality.
Met up with a fellow photographer from Sydney, Australia, yesterday evening for some night time shooting and a couple of pints, he's originally from South Shields and has been following these pages for a long time now. He's over to see some long lost friends and family for a great Christmas. Pictures to follow shortly.

Read my views in Curly's Corner Shop, to find out a little more about my home town South Shields.
