In memory of........

Posted by
Curly (South Shields, United Kingdom) on 4 March 2012 in Cityscape & Urban and Portfolio.

........my old mate Cllr. Jimmy Capstick who recently passed away, the flags flew at half mast on South Shields Town Hall. Incredibly he'd suffered a heart attack on the morning that I took that last picture of him, but discharged himself from the hospital in order to attend the ceremony, he suffered another one on Christmas Day.

He unselfishly served this town for over 40 years and was a great help to me when I was a young councillor.

Processed this one in Topaz Adjust but I think I got a bit heavy handed with the high pass filter for sharpening.

Hi Curly love the photo reminds me of a rainy night in December when two men with cameras and tripods stood in the rain on the side of the road (I'm sure looking quite strange to passers by) As said Curly great photo and the story of whom sounds to be an inspirational man in your life, and the lives of other in the town that most likley never meet or even knew of him, a person that changed there lives for the better for many years. It pulls at your heart strings I'm sure Curly but remember the man for all the good things he brought you, and I can say for sure knowing Curly that some of James (Jimmy) has certainly rubbed off onto you my friend.
