The Groyne

Posted by
Curly (South Shields, United Kingdom) on 3 May 2012 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

The Groyne pier at the mouth of the River Tyne, South Shields.

It was a pretty grey afternoon as I took a walk down to the harbour and the "little beach" but I filled an hour photographing anyway, as I had time to kill.
Brought this one home and decided on a little cross processing then added an Orton effect. I also used Orton on a series of weebles, but more of them later eh?

love the effect and the view and the perspective! placing the lighthouse right into the groyne (as it were) works very well ... looks almost as if the lighthouse had split the pier in two ...
