Yes it was that time of year for the 31st. Tyne Tees Run for historic commercial vehicles from Teeside to South Shields on the River Tyne, the event was held on Sunday 2nd. June 2013.
I had a whole lot of fun working up this HDR in Photomatix, Lucis Arts, and Photoshop, even altering the colour of the truck in one version, to give it a little more "pop" and dynamism. At the end of the day I preferred this graphic black and white to show on this page. Unfortunately (although I enjoyed the warm sunshine) the light was direct and harsh, with hardly a cloud in the sky when I arrived at the Bents Park in South Shields. Because of this I had already decided in advance that everything that I shot would be a three frame burst in auto bracketing mode, I could decide later whether or not to make an HDR or go with the regular 0EV frame. So harsh and contrasty it was, and I still have a pile of shots to work through, I'll show them intermittently as I get them produced.
