Silly Tuesday (Narcissus edition)

Posted by
Curly (South Shields, United Kingdom) on 18 June 2013 in Documentary & Street and Portfolio.

Did you see him, did you notice?
Just what makes some folks walk around trying to attract attention in this way? So he works out in a gym, wants to build some bulk and muscle on his average frame, but why make a point by stripping off half of his clothes to Goddam let the world look at him??
Thankfully just about everybody else in this frame weren't interested in the least, they gave ZERO ****s that day!
Picture taken in King Street, South Shields, and processed using the Lucis Arts plug-in, Nik Silver Efex, and then masked to produce the selective colouring.
My Silly Tuesday contribution for this week :-)

I can't see the face of the one walking with him, but it almost looks as though she has no pants on; I guess that's fitting in their world ... glad I don't live there.
A great capture and most definitely well-processed!

Men often forget that what is in their muscles isn't in their brain. Women won't.

18 Jun 2013 1:49pm

franz from Baden, Austria

this is perfect, imho !!! i wish i could do this kind of processing, too ...
as to the "half-naked" show off (or rather half-dressed ...) - we had a run-in once with one of them (another brit, i'm sorry to say) in a rather elegant café on the isle of capri! he was the only one of the guests who thought nothing about taking off his shirt in the place, after climbing up the hill instead of taking the cable car. and - he was quite indignant when the waiter (dressed in white tux and bow tie !) politely asked him to put it on again ... and he wasn't even half as well-built as the chap in your photo ;-)))

Amazing work! I love the treatment and processing. The sharpness of light and shadows is gorgeous; and, of course, the idea of highlighting a single detail in colour is brilliant.
