Not sure of the identification of this one, I think it is a British WWll North American built P51 Mustang. I'm ready to stand down on that if someone can give the correct identification. Obviously at the time it was flying at Sunderland's International Air Show, I had my ears firmly closed and missed what the commentator had to say about this, although I vaguely recall hearing something about the North African campaign and later service in Korea, and hence this paint job.

I may be well off the mark of course.

'Fraid I cannot verify the ID here and I guess it was not a good moment for you to phone the pilot and ask.

Even from this angle, it has that distinctive P-51 shape. This has to be a Mustang.

Mouse is correct, definitely a Mustang, I'm pretty sure it's a P51A, as that was the kind the RAF flew. It's less funky looking than the P51D. Most important of all, great shot

It looks like to P-51 to me ! It's a superb shot !! Wonderful !!
