50mm project #2

Posted by
Curly (South Shields, United Kingdom) on 23 September 2013 in Miscellaneous and Portfolio.

A week long project shooting only with an old Asahi Pentax K mount 50mm f1.4 lens attached to the camera. All settings were manual including focus, aperture, and shutter speed.
I thoroughly enjoyed getting back to "proper photography" again and forcing oneself to think about the shots, the composition, the light, the focus, and the result.

PENTAX K100D 1/500 second ISO 800

Smiles . . that's stunted your EXIF ! Agree there was 'something' about using a 50mm prime lens that moved technology into second place behind image-making. One day, I really must tape a zoom to 35mm or so and see if the magic is still there, Jelly Bean.

23 Sep 2013 6:53am

@PATRICK: PDC?? I guess you must mean Paulo Di Canio, oh well I'm glad the risk and danger has been removed, now the team has a mountain to climb to regain some respect and save their Premiership status.

PATRICK from miramas, France

just pdc = depth of field and pdv =shooting
I just wanted to express a point of view with a 50mm wide aperture CDP and therefore reduced the fine work of composition and development

Excellent still life, and superb DOF. a return to the source which shows that when you have to master shooting, it's not so simple. But so much more interesting.
