This is Westoe RFC vs Waterloo played at Woods Terrace, South Shields.
Westoe Rugby Club have been a permanent fixture in South Shields since 1875, they share the ground with South Shields Cricket Club, Woods Terrace also offers tennis and squash.
Westoe currently play in the National League Third Division North and sit around mid table. Their biggest drawback is that they only have the one pitch, despite having four senior teams and a number of colts and junior teams (who need to hire pitches from South Tyneside District Council).
It is about a 60 yard walk from the clubhouse to the stand, so most of the half time is spent in motion, not much time left to sink that pint. We can also see that the Elfin Safety Police have been at work ordering the club to serve pints in plastic pots rather than traditional glasses. After all who knows what might happen amongst these huge crowds of twenty or thirty??
