They came bearing gifts, gold, frankincense, and myrrh, or in this case handmade colourful lanterns!
These children are arriving at St. Hilda's church in South Shields' Market Place after being part of a popular procession from the museum in Ocean Road. Council officials were genuinely taken aback at the amount of people who had followed the procession through the town centre and had to close the church yard for safety reasons. Almost 1500 people tagged on the end and filled the Market Place to witness the blessing of the nativity scene and decorations that adorn the garden around St. Hilda's.
