Jet and the cobbled streets

Posted by
Curly (South Shields, United Kingdom) on 17 May 2015 in Documentary & Street and Portfolio.

Church Street in Whitby is full of little old pubs like The Black Horse on the right, and a myriad of jewellers selling Whitby "Jet". Jet is a member of the amber family, although it is jet black in colour, and is found predominantly on the beaches local to Whitby and the east coast. Perhaps this black jewellery is another reason why the town is so popular with "Goths".

Processed in Nik Silver and Lucis Art.
