After lunch wind down

The Pitcher and Piano on Newcastle's Quayside facing the River Tyne. Ideal on a warm and sunny afternoon, walk over from Gateshead and watch the river traffic flowing past.

STEED from D, France

There's always a good place to sit, watch around and drink a beer between taking two or three pictures on the bank ......A pleasant place and a sweet sunday's shot,Curly ...

15 May 2017 6:02am

@STEED: Odd, but this place is never quite so pleasant on a dull rainy day :-)

Cannot see that flowerpot being stolen any time soon !

15 May 2017 6:13am

@Ronnie 2¢: It is a bit large for the average loft installation :-)

Shaun from Thorton, United States

Pitcher&Piano. What a great name. This looks like a nice place to sit outside, watching the river. Great to see Newcastle in the premier league again.

15 May 2017 12:32pm

@Shaun: OMG.......you really know how to wind a bloke up!! Some of us will be glad to see them relegated again, just so we can play a real derby match.

Ruthiebear from Titusville, NJ, United States

LOve the name of this place. You have captured the welcoming atmosphere.

15 May 2017 1:13pm

@Ruthiebear: The name........never really excited me to be honest, perhaps it conjures up images of very old pubs with large flagons of beer and an old timer tinkling the ivories.

Adela Fonts from Barcelona, Spain

You are an expert photographer. Your HDRs are perfect ...

15 May 2017 5:16pm

@Adela Fonts: Really? Well I'm glad they go down well in Barcelona :-)

Steven from Chicagoland, United States

Definitely a great place to enjoy the views along the river!! I love the inclusion of the louvres used on the second level to block out the intense sunlight. I would imagine it's prime seating during lunch and dinner.

15 May 2017 10:21pm

@Steven: Probably (because of its position) it will be used at breakfast and lunch, by afternoon the sun will have moved further west).

Elaine Hancock from Olney, United States

It looks like a great place to sit and enjoy the view. I like the reflections.

15 May 2017 11:50pm
