Ripon Cathedral, HDR, (it was a breeze)

Posted by
Curly (South Shields, United Kingdom) on 23 May 2017 in Cityscape & Urban and Portfolio.

Ripon Cathedral tone mapped HDR in Photomatix.
Three handheld shots fired off quick as a flash :-) Just about as irreverent as I could get for a Silly Tuesday presentation.

I like this breeze !

@Gérard: I'm find it hard to be happy and jolly this morning after last night's bombing in Manchester. Two South Shields teenagers are reported as missing, I'm praying for them.

There is quite a lot to admire in this image. The street is quiet, but I like the woman sitting outside the cafe with the 2 dogs, and the woman walking down the street. The Cathedral stands out well, and the shadows over the road fit right in this shot. Nice work. 5*

Great PoV captured of this cathedral! The street makes a nice corridor view, coupled with the activity.
I bet the cathedral is filled with prayers and mourners today.

SO sorry to hear of the bombing last night. :-( Another lovely HDR, though the magnificent cathedral looks kind of out of p lace at the end of this street.

This is a beautiful HDR. Wonderful colors. After the bombing last night, the first person I thought of is you. This is so heart wrenching with so many young innocent people killed and injured. I hope that the two teenagers are found.

This is a nice application of HDR, with open shadows, fine colors and no artifacts.

Devi from Chennai, India

Great cathedral !!
I like this lady walking here too.. Nice details too !
but like the chicken who goes around crying The Sky is Falling...the buildings on the left..the slight tilt, scares me !

24 May 2017 11:52am

@Devi: Yeah I guess that's the distortion of the wide lens, I tried hard to keep the cathedral windows and columns nice and vertical.
